Manual Transfer Switch Overcurrent Protection

A 200A, 1ph, 120/240Vmeter main panel with 110 amp fuses is
feeding equipment that is protected with an 80 amp main breaker
in its integral load center. There is a transfer switch and lug box before
and immediately adjacent to the equipment. Can a 100 amp transfer switch
be used or is it required to to be rated at 110 amps or more?

I agree, But the MTS is in front of a 80 amp main. Does that not play into it?

What Code section says that? Seems logical, but I can't put my finger on the Code section.
