Manufactured home ceiling fan box

So I'm trying to put a few ceiling fans in a manufactured home. First time ever working in one of these. I cut a hole out with space to the trusses for a braced old work box and turns out they are 2x2s covered in some type of glue so no chance of these workin as they won't seat up against the glue. Anybody ever find a good way to mount them in one of these?

My 2 ideas were either put a 2x4 across 2 trusses and screw up into it through the ceiling to secure, then mount a fan box right to it. Or move the hole under one of them and mount directly to it which seems a little less supported just being a 2x2 up there

Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks!

Ya those mobile home trusses suck. I wouldn't trust them with a cut in you'll find that the best ways will involve either a medallion or a drywall patch. If you can the center where the cross overs are will have a beam in double wides that strong enough
