Tell NEMA that they made a mistake though. The peninsula that comprises DE, a part of MD, and a part of VA is incorrect. The southern section is VA and should be red as the rest of VA is. VA has statewide adoption.

Michigan only adopted part of the 2008 NEC for residential

R 408.30801 National electrical code; adoptions by reference; inspection; purchase.


Rule 801. (1) The standards contained in the national electrical code,
2008 edition, except sections
501.30B, 502.30B, 503.30B, 505.25B, 506.25B,
547.1 to 547.10, and Annex H, as published by the
national fire protectionassociation (NFPA),
shall govern the installation, replacement, alteration,
relocation, and use of electrical systems or material. With the exceptions
noted, the national electrical code is adopted in these rules by reference.

They are using the entire book for commercial and industrial, as they don't fall under the Michigan Residential Code.

West Virginia adopted 2008 with no amendments.
Probably going to adopt 2011 as of 1-Jun-2013.

Is your query towards statewide or local modifications? VA has statewide amendments, while MD has local amendments and adoption dates.

Texas has no amendments but all incorporated areas have local adoption and amendments.
