If a GFCI receptacle on a dock stanchion fails, does the Marina have to replace the device? My Marina is refusing to replace the GFCI receptacles on the stanchions, because they said the GFCI gets corroded, and they don't want to replace them anymore.

Thank you,
Dennis Traynor.

Welcome to the forum.

I would imagine they are responsible if your lease agreement includes power availability.

If so, they're in breach of contract.

The code does not require power on the dock, and only tells you how to install power on the dock if someone wants power, so it comes down to the issue Larry raised in the previous post.

Is the failed GFCI a weather resistant type (WR)? WR GFCIs hold up better as are more corrosion resistant.
