Marine application

For the first time in my career I am rewiring a large tugboat which sank 5 years ago. The power on the boat is supplied by 2 diesel powered 3 phase generatore (not yet installed). Currently this boat is a hull. We have installed two 3 phase panels for the crew and galley ares. (208/120). I have questions regarding wire colors. The panels are each supplied with 4 conductor number 1 marine wire. The colors are red, black, white and green. What are the proper colors for the 3 phase panel feeders? Also I understand the Coast Guard is the ruling authority. How can I obtain a copy of their requirements for electrical installations on tugboats?

Depending on the Service Life of your vessel, you might also want to look at the ABS, you may or may not want to get them involoved.

Although the NEC doesn't cover Boat / ships you be surprised how close
everything is followed and except for marine grade wiring and bundling circuits, you'll pretty much feel right at home.

We are currently pulling a lot of wire on this boat. If you are aware please inform me of marine wiring and bundling rules. At one location I read that the wire should be supported every 18 inches. I am having a tough time getting information on this and obviously do not want to do it twice.
