Marine Grade Wiring

We are looking at installing a transfer switch on a charter boat and USCG is requiring a marine grade wire for install. I have done very little boat work and am not yet sure what he is asking for. I am researching now, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Regulations aboard vessels vary depending on classification of the vessel. All land rules and regs are null and void but, if the Coast guard inspector is saying "marine wire" I bet he is looking for the stamp on the wire shield to say "USCG approved" West marine is a major supplier and stocks up to probably 10/3. Get out the check book if you need much.
