I am looking for information on DC wiring on a boat. I assume there has to be a code or guidelines that need to be followed. I am planning to re-wire my boat and want to size the marine grade cable correctly. Also any information to become licensed for this type of installation would be great. I have asked this question in fishing groups and it doesnt sound like it is required like typical electrical licensing. TIA

Try the american yatch and boat council https://abycinc.org/page/CopyofStandardsInd
Boat wiring is not under the scope of the NEC.
We don't allow DIY questions here, but since this is an area that we can't help you with, we'll allow it.
In washington boat wiring is not required to be done by licensed electricians, but there may be some certifications available.
Please keep in mind that there is a lot of concern in the electrical industry and boat industry on electric shock and drownings, in fact the NEC now requires signs posted where there is electricity at boat docks, - danger no swimming.
