I am working in a class 1 div2 b/c/d area for the first time. I have to install 5 Mass flow meters that themselves are rated correctly, but I need of course to supply power to them. I need of course to mount the displays where they can be seen/monitored. My question arises from the fact that they come with a D shell connector that 2 of the wires are used for power, 24vdc, and communication etc. wires are in the same cable. I am wondering if a stainless 4x box for instance with conduit run to it(rigid) and mounting a 120V. recepticle inside the box to utilize the supplied power supply. If Zinc plated cord connectors are used for the cable with rubber seals, would this setup suffice? We are monitoring H2, CO, CO2, Ar, and N2. These MFM are but 4 inches in height and 1 inch or so thick. I was thinking of simply mounting these on a 'shelf' right under each power box. Any suggestions, thoughts?
