Master Electrician..whats the most important part to know?

I am considering getting my Master Lic. Any good ( Useful, Thoughtful) advice would be appreciated. My aim is to to gain as much knowledge and advancement as I can, mostly so I have a good deal of usefulness to bring to any table and secure a good future since I aint getting any younger.

I've had my Masters for about 30 years now and I am very glad I have it even though I'm now retired.
It can be a very rewarding thing to have if you are the qualifying master in your shop.
If not, you're just an employee with a masters card.
The biggest reward is knowing you have it.
And it looks good on your resumè.

If you want to be marketable IMO you need to pick the direction you want to go and start there. If it's commercial installations there are many things that you need to know that are geared towards that type of work. If it's one family homes then where you want to work that is a different skill set. In the beginning if you try to know everything you'll end up a jack of all trades and a master of none. Learning takes experience and experience takes time.

Many guys that post here have had well rounded careers bolstered partially by longevity. If you spend enough time in this trade moving around from project to project your knowledge will always be expanding.
