I obtained my masters without a journeyman license. Do you7 find this a problem or d you wish to obtain your masters?

The master's license is the same as the contractor's license in most states. If you hold a contractor's license in any state, most states will allow you to apply for one in their state. If you hold a journeyman's license in one state, another state will usually not allow you to apply for a master's until you first hold a journeyman's license for a specified amount of time (2 years in CT). The place to find this out would be the State licensing department. Try the web page.

Other Licenses: Alarm I, Alarm II, Lighting Maintenance, Sign, Residential, Limited Energy, Utility Lineman
Notes: The 2002 NEC was adopted on July 1, 2003.

I was able to obtain my masters license a month after i obtained my journeymans license, and a letter explaining at least 5 years proven OJT. I am pretty sure that who ever sponsors your exam, being the county or city, will dictate. This was in Alachua County Florida. Also IMO the journeyman exam was a practical exam considering the responsibilty involved in this state but IMO the Masters exam was a disappointment, I beleive there should be more to it. Possibly atleast some commercial and residential load calcs. I am curious what the rest of you think?
