Between the '08 NEC just adopted late last year and the construction slow down around here, I haven't priced many jobs recently. I'm curious if any of you who have been using the "08 code for awhile have done any comparisons to etermine how much more materials cost now than they did under the '05 code. TR and WR receptacles, bond terminals, CO detectors, and additional AFCI breakers have all contributed to higher costs, but how much higher? I'm thinking 10 to 15 % and trying to adjust my estimating accordingly. Any suggestions?

Might be a good idea to get another estimating program, if it does not have updates with current pricing.

I would say over 90% of my work is T&M so I've never felt the need to invest in an estimating program. I would still have to do a take off and trust someone elses labor estimates for the materials involved even if I had one.
There was a time (about 25 years ago) when I wanted estimating software, but not any more.
My OP was really just to get an idea of how much forum members think has been added to our material costs by the new code requirements in general.
