Anyone recomend a website with material prices we could consider close to pay in supply house? Well I need to work sometimes after 5 pm on some estimates and need some prices for the estimates, especially when they need the estimate for the next mornig. Your help would be really appreciated.

let me help with this..... first, pour about 3 fingers of bourbon, knock it
back, and then get some sleep.

bidding stuff late at night is a good way to make you regret ever deciding
to do this line of work. one of my previous employers "missed" 1200' of
4" future running under a slab, in his rush to get the bid wrapped up for
showtime in the morning. he was nice and low, so of course he got the job.
:-(

it wasn't noticed, cause it was in the specifications, and a copy of those
weren't sent to the job.... just a waste of the forman's time to read that
stuff, right?

it was discovered after the slab was poured, and they were forming walls
(it was a tilt up)

get some sleep. it's been a long day.

Crescent Electric and Viking Electric I believe have prices online if you get a login name from them. Need an account though so I don't know if they are around you

You should get TraSer or Epic pricing service.
It works with the estimating programs and you can get updates weekly, monthly or quarterly.

Yup the first year i was in business I did that late stuff, then I discovered something, OH My! I had a family, and for the next 35 plus years, I wanted to be paid well for working after hours, some guys just never get it, until it's too late, your advice
"get some sleep. it's been a long day." Is the best.

He said after 5pm he didn't say late at night, are there senior citizens in here?
I agree about buring the candle at both ends but sometimes you do need a price after your supplier closes, sometimes I work on an estimate in the evening or on a Sunday afternoon. My suppliers have online prices thought.

Mind your manners. This forum is populated with your very senior elders teaching you young pups.........trying to keep you from making the same mistakes we made!
