Max. depth to top of electrical duct bank

NEC figure 310.60 has a note: Max. depth to top of electrical duct banks shall be 30 in.


Will this 30 in. is from the top of electrical duct bak to finished grade level? I have seen some elec. details indicates from top of duct bank to grade is 42" or more as minimum....

I will say yes it is from the top of the duct and finished grade. Look at the note 3 a in table 300.50. If the specks called for a deeper minimum then 310.60 (2) would need to be looked at
