Max number of OCPD

What is the maximum number of over current protection devices allowed in a panelboard based on the 2008 code? What is the code section?

Until you posted, I thought it was 54, however there seems to be no limit.
The 42 circuit limit was removed from 408.36 and 408.54 only limits it to manufacturing limits. I seem to recall a Canadian "standard" panel is 54, but apparently the '08 is only limited by the manufacturer and the 6 ft 7 height.:grin:

In the '08, due to the changes, the maximum number of OCPD is now determined by the manufacturer. So the listing/labeling is important.

SQD's website now shows they have listings on 18, 30, 42, 54, 72, and 84 circuits.
