What is the Max. size of an ungrounded conductor installed in a raceway? And what, if any, is the exception? Article 310.3 2002 N.E.C.

not sure what 310.3 has to do with this?that's all you can buy i think.

I stand corrected. 2002 NEC 310.3 Standed Conductors. Where installed in raceways, conductors of size 8 AWG and larger shall be stranded.
Exception: As permitted or required elsewhere in this Code.
My question, revised, is where is the exception for larger than #8 solid in a raceway?
Sorry about the improper wording.
