I'm working a medical project installing a mammogram x-ray unit. On the manufacturer shop drawings it states "Dedicated generator circuit breaker with remote emergency off shunt trip. Provide 3 conductor #10 awg wire from circuit breaker to junction box. Maximum line impedance not to exceed 0.20 ohms for 208V single phase".

Could anyone please clarify what is meant by "Maximum line impedance not to exceed 0.20 ohms for 208V single phase"? Thank you.

See NEC Table 9 for effective Z (impedance) per 1000 ft. Calculate the maximum number of feet allowed to keep Z < 0.2 ohm.
