Maximum SE Cable Lengths

I am trying to find reference for the maximum allowable distance SE Cable can be installed based of the size and type of cable. Does anyone happen to know what section to reference?

I have a copy of NEC 2005.

Thanks,
John

Re: Maximum SE Cable Lengths

Well this is an expanded question: I will only give a bite of information:

Rather overhead or underground you will have to consider some factors. Span of run/ Voltage drop involed in that run/ wire size to handle the amperage being considered for the run (to limit voltage drop. If overhead: then you would also factor in weight a wire can handle if over or under spans of 50 feet (see nec 225.6[A]).

See these articles: Nec 210.19 FPN 4/215.2(A)4 FPN 2/ 310.16

Wait for others to follow-up!

As far as you want, there is no limit.

There is a suggestion that voltage drop be considered.
