I am considering purchasing a cable puller.
I have used all of the greenlee pullers over the years.
I am looking at the Maxis 3000 puller.
Has anyone here used this, and what do you think?
Is it worth the money or should I go to ebay and get a greenlee?

Re: Maxis 3000 Puller

i tried one and i'll stay with greenlee --- i did not like the speed and when it needed some slow steady movement -- it wasn't there! i have two greenlee's -- a high speed cable puller and their super tugger. and i'll stay with greenlee!!!

Re: Maxis 3000 Puller

I talked to one their reps last week. For the Max 3000 they want $3000 plus the cost of the drill or grinder to run it. If I going to spend that much on a tugger I going with greenlee.

Re: Maxis 3000 Puller

We have a Maxis 3000.Cost us $2400.00
This unit is a labor saving device for jobs 200 amps and less.
I use it for commercial sub panelboards and alot of parking lot standards.
We have the Ultra Supper Tugger and feeder for anything over 200 amps.
The maxis takes 3 minutes to set up.The tugger 1 hour and a trailor to tow to jobsite.
Greenlee has a new tugger like the maxis out for demo right now.
Good Luck

Re: Maxis 3000 Puller

Thanks for the comments.

Having done more research, I think that the Maxis 3000 would be ok for pulls up to 2" and that a Greenlee Super Tugger for 2-1/2" and up.

For small pulls, Greenlee also has a Easy Tugger for 2000 lb pulls. The Maxis advertizes 4000 lbs. The Maxis seems to be more complete and can be set up easier that the Easy Tugger.

Re: Maxis 3000 Puller

I own Greenlee and recently purchased a Maxis, for small pulls they are great, a good machine with limits, If I had to have only one machine it is the workhorse Greenlee. Mine is now 20 years old and pulls like it was new.

Last year I buried my tractor in a creek my truck and another tractor could not pull out my tractor. I went to the shop got some chain, a generator and the Greenlee, chained it to a tree and the tractor pulled out with no problem, my neighbor and brother were amazed, they were betting against me.
