Has anyone here used the Arlington MB8 on an engineered floor joist? If so, did you experience any problems?

I am wondering if the long screws would split the edge of the joist?s flange. What is the distance from the center of the screw slot to the edge of the knockout?

Regards,
Bernard

If you got the box centered then I don't see a problem. This is a retro box setup from what I can see.

Hi Dennis,

Thank you for your prompt response.

I believe the flange of an engineered/manufactured wood Joist "I-Beam" is approximately 2" verses a 2" by's actual 1 1/2" edge. I was concerned about the measurement from the center of the MB8's slot to the edge of the knockout. Will the knockout's full opening clear the edge of the engineered joist?

Yes I see your problem. It may work with a pop in connector but I am not certain. You might be able to fudge it just off center.
