MC and Flexible Cords in Retail Lighting

What length of MC or Flexible cord is allowed in retail or warehouse lighting? What are the applicable code sections? My electrician has run long lenghts of MC and I thought 6' was the maximum.

You can run MC as far as you want, consider most Lowe's or Home Depots use MC or similar cables for all the lighting.

If you are dealing with flexible cord supplying electric discharge lighting then you need to take a look at 410.62(C)(1) (2008 NEC)

As far as using MC cable I agree with Bob.:)
