MC cable and damp location

It MC cable allowed exposed in the ceiling of a covered porch, if the wires are THWN? The wires would be rated for the location, and they wouldn't be subject to physical damage.

Take a look at 330.10. It appears to me that MC is permitted in damp locations and, even under certain conditions, in wet locations.

Think you would need to compare the specifications of the cable manufacturer directly... Make sure the conductor has a W... And remember that the degree rating may change. 90 to 75 in most cases.

Thanks guys, I took a look at 330.10, the cable is non-pvc coated, but the conductors at THHN/THWN.

In the '08 FMC is not allowed in wet locations regardless of the type of wire inside of it per 348.12(1). I'm not sure that I would get to worked up about it under a covered porch, but that may be a question for the AHJ as many consider damp and wet the same thing.
