Is there any reason why Hospital Grade MC cable cannot be used in an existing OR to add circuits to an isolation panel? The ceiling is gypboard, all lights are sealed, HVAC is ducted. It doesnt seem to me that above the ceiling would be a harsh environment, but others have suggested I need to use a coated mettalic conduit.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Yes there is, the major one being the conductors inside of HG cable assemblies does not have a strong enough dieelectric strength for Isolation System use. Most Isolation Power system manufacturers require a minimum of XHHW.

There is no need for a coated type of conduit, EMT is fine.
