MC Cable Labor

12/2 MC Steel Armor w/ supports and connectors

Generally speaking here regarding install . Me and a friend have pretty different labor units per thousand.

Standard height ceiling, ceiling not installed yet.

Supported either a bridle ring on flange, or KX clip on rod by others.

500' with 15 connectors.

I use about 18 hours and he uses about 10 hours. Thoughts??
 
By standard height are we to assume ladder work? With 15 connectors you are stopping off at 7-8 junction boxes? Wall or ceiling? Does your labor include making up connections in those boxes?

I show 12/2 MC at .022/ft or 22 hrs per thousand

Yes, ladder work and stopping at 7-8 4" boxes in ceiling. Labor does NOT include the boxes or splices within.

I don't use programs to determine my cost. I basically give each process a labor unit . 15min - 30 min - 1/2 hr ect .. then I give every aspect a value.

let's say 7 boxes ÷ 500ft .. roughly 71ft.

figure how long is it going to take to run a cable 75 ft strap it 20 times mount the box make up splices. then multiply by 7 boxes.

anywhere from 1 to 2 hrs per box.
depending on simple variables.

1 hour is alot of time in that type of work.

That's exactly where my mind was going. 10-12 hours should cover that portion of work.
