MC cable supported on mech piping

Is the following installation code acceptable for a box installed above non-fire rated drop ceiling? Seems odd to have the MC cable resting on refrigerant piping but I can't find code that states raceway has to supported independent of piping.

I wouldn't call that supported. If it's a 6' fixture whip no support/securing required.

The NEC does not say you can't use other piping systems to support NEC wiring methods. The codes for the other piping systems probably do.

If you add a zip tie that would make it secured and supported IMO. It's not great practice to do that, but not NEC prohibited

Just like NEC doesn't allow wiring methods to support other system for the most part.

When a portion of two systems are associated with one another there can be exceptions, like a control wire strapped to a refrigerant line to an outdoor condensing unit is generally allowed.
