If the outside sheath of mc cable alone is not suitable for equipment grounding,if two mc cables are spliced inside a box, does'nt the ground insde the cables also have to be bonded to the box?

Re: mc cable

Then there must be 2 EGCs in the MC cable. One would connect to the metallic outlet box and the second to the grounding terminal on the receptacle.

Re: mc cable

m2oliva, The company I work for runs miles of this stuff.

We just ask for 12/2 IG MC or 10/2 IG MC.

This will show up with Black, White, Green and Green with Yellow stripe.

One maker of this cable is AFC Cable Systems out of New Bedford, MA, I sure there are others also.

Re: mc cable

A couple more mc questions in regard to grounding .Must every outlet box have a pigtail to the box and to the outlet? If your splicing in a pullbox and there are numerous grounds from different circuits is it ok to put them all together and put one tail to the box[we useally keep one ground per 3 ckts.]
