Code isn't so much about what you can do, it's more about what you can't do.

If the manufacturer says you need them then they are required.

Agreed, this is always a subject that some feel so confidant when saying code doesn't say you have to use them.
Code does say you have to follow manufacturers instructions, it's a strong indication that they are instructing you to use them when they give you a bag with every roll.

Your not making friends with the inspector by not using them. Yes you can put him in that spot of not knowing whos cable you used. And he can get extra picky in other things. Pick your options. Personally i can not understand not using them.

You guys should have more confidence in products that have the UL listing on them, they

have been tested ( the mc connectors ) without anti-shorts, and the maker says thats fine.

You guys are just to old, I mean, set in your ways to change now!

To old to take chances over something so easy that just might save 2 hours work to fix ????
You will not work on my job if your that lazy to take an extra 5 seconds.

Jim,

We put in 100s of 1000s of those connectors, and I can't recall a single problem, but, if I

worked for you I would simply use the 'red head'.

Some time patronization is the best way to go. ;):D

According to all those ads for new fangled electrical products, 2 seconds per connection times 850 billion connections could save your company $237.42

There is not a single manufacturer that requires red heads with MC.
