If the manufacturer says you need them then they are required.
Agreed, this is always a subject that some feel so confidant when saying code doesn't say you have to use them.
Code does say you have to follow manufacturers instructions, it's a strong indication that they are instructing you to use them when they give you a bag with every roll.
You guys should have more confidence in products that have the UL listing on them, they
have been tested ( the mc connectors ) without anti-shorts, and the maker says thats fine.
You guys are just to old, I mean, set in your ways to change now!

We put in 100s of 1000s of those connectors, and I can't recall a single problem, but, if I
worked for you I would simply use the 'red head'.
Some time patronization is the best way to go.

There is not a single manufacturer that requires red heads with MC.
