Can I use MC cable and terminate it in a non-conductive box if I use a termination nut that permits the cable connector to be connected to the grounding terminal of the receptacle which is mounted in the box?

I read that as saying that the mc connector will have to have a mig bushing in order to comply,or am I reading it wrong,this came up at the end of last year our guys were wiring kitchen island using pvc old work box and using armored flex.Hense no bonding path.We went to carflex and the same pvc box problem solved
