Has anyone used the RSK-145 Roto-Skinner on MC-HL type cable? If so, your thoughts on this tool. I am looking to spec out a cutting device for the MC-HL cable for terminating in a Roxtec fitting.

You don't need a tool like that for CLX type of cables. You can use a hacksaw or fine tooth recip blade with a handle to score the metal sheath (around not lengthwise), only a light score is needed. Then flex the cable and the sheath separates and you just pull it off like a piece of insulation. There are other types of cables with a tough steel sheath that a roto skinner can be very useful for, but MCHL is easy without it. I've installed many miles of that stuff in Alaska and don't remember ever seeing anyone use a specialized tool like you are referring to.

I have one and I like it a lot. You can set it for the smaller MC cable such as MC-Lite and also regular size MC or AC. I can use it much quicker than trying to score it around then break it off.

These guys will be making over 10,000 cable cuts. Everything from 16/2 TSP to 50 and 100 TSP and triad cables, not to mention the over 250 motors and 1000+ light fixtures. So I want something that will make the client happy. I heard that last time some clown left a jagged edge in one of the control panels and the client got upset. understandably so. So my boss has me reasearching a power tool that will be required, as to appease the client. My feeling is it is the clients 1B dollars to spend as he wishes.
