I'm hoping to get some updated opinions on using MC in a covered porch. Not subject to rain. Terminating into some Infratech heaters. Conductors are THWN.

I saw some 10+ year old threads discussing this. There were some opinions that the cable is ok in damp location but the connectors are not, thus you couldn't use it to feed an outdoor heater.

Thoughts?

Conductors within Southwire Armorlite MC cable are THHN/THWN, so that tells me you're good for damp locations with the conductors. Just check the MC jacket. NEC states you can use MC in wet locations as long as it meets what the text says. NEC 330.10(A).

What kind of connectors are you using which would not be acceptable?

I was picturing just basic screw down or snap on like the Arlington 38AST or 38MCDC2SCN .

Aren’t your average MC connectors listed for dry locations only? Damp locations is only mentioned in 330.10(A)(10)but associated with brick or masonry. In a wet location, a corrosion resistant jacket over the metal jacket is required along with the three conditions mentioned.
