Only asking because someone listed 4/C MC cable and I know it should be 3/C. have a 30A 2P disconnect feeding a load. IT should be 3/C mc and not 4/c, correct?
Maybe. Probably. But without knowing the specifics of the load, who is the "someone" we are trying to second guess? What is the load and application? Is it possible there is something else that we don't know?
4/C might also be two hots and two neutrals.
Unless the load requires the neutral, 2/C would suffice. If so, I agree with you.Only asking because someone listed 4/C MC cable and I know it should be 3/C. have a 30A 2P disconnect feeding a load. IT should be 3/C mc and not 4/c, correct?

That would be 2-2, as in 12-2-2
