I wonder if bushings will be required?

NEMA and UL seemed to indicate it was the design of listed MC connectors that prevent conductor damage not the wrap.

But I leave the wrap and use bushings, the listed MC connectors we get do not appear to protect the conductors from the armor at all.

I'm sorry I'm a bit slow Bob, but I don't understand this statement. MC is MC, therefore no bushing is required.

Whats interesting is the MC Quik has the wrap over each wire.
MC-AP has the overall wrap - the connectors were tested with this as the MC Quik is new. Did AFC have the connectors retested?
A source (who helped Southwire develop MC AP) said MC Quik was developed to avoid patent infringement.
At the NECA show in Seattle I had a nice chat with the inventor of MC-AP

That's correct. The polypropylene wrap is instead extruded around each conductor rather than a separate film wrapped around the conductor bundle. This is the way they were able to work around Southwire's patent for MCI-A type construction.

In order to list their cable with UL or CSA, AFC is required to have listed connectors to use with it. There are listed connectors available for use with it.
