Power Panelboard in a 120/208V building. MCB required in power panelboard? Have a co-worker with 20+ years electrical experience, who states there must be a MCB in the power panelboard. I say the MCB in the MDP with MLO in the PP is OK. Who buys the beer?

There is no NEC requirement that a "main" overcurrent protective device be located internal to any panel.

You will never be able to prove this though because it is not mentioned in the NEC.

Jim,

408.36(B) states: "This overcurrent device shall be located within or at any point on the supply side of the panelboard". I guess I interpret that to mean it can be in the panelboard or the main distribution panel.
