I'm looking at an MCC that's installed in a portable building that will be imported to the USA.
All cable entries come through the top. The top of the MCC is 7.5 ft high and open so I had the manufacturer install front plates to keep persons from dropping anything inside the MCC thinking it would be a good storage space.
The manufacture only installed plates where there was no cable tray but would not cut out plates to fit around the cable tray.
Reading IEC 6049-3 it states that an MCC has to have an IP2XC rating. However I could not find the degree of protection for persons in the NEC.
Can anyone help with this please. Also, if the MCC is 7.5 ft tall and the ceiling is 8.5 ft tall does the top even need to be enclosed?
Thanks
