MCC Inspection

Merry Christmas

A client has an old MCC (Ca 1949) that has been electrically locked out for about 2-1/2 years. The reason it was locked out can be basically summarized as "someone thought" it was unsafe and made the comment to management. As a result, the maintenance superintendent had it locked out. In his words, it was done "out of an abundance of caution". I would like to have the MCC inspected by an independent qualified party to determine if it is safe to return to service or not. This is beyond my expertise so I am looking for suggestions on what qualifications are needed and where to begin my search. Thanks in advance.

There are plenty of electrical testing companies out there. Not sure what the end result is that you are looking for.

Since it has not been used for 2 + years, maybe it is best to just demo it and try to sell it to a used equipment dealer.
