MCC proection.

I was asked if a MCC has to have a main disconnect. The Breaker upstream of the feeder conductor and the buss bars, is sized to protect the system for amperage and Fault current. I cannot find any code requirements that require a main in the lineup but it does not hurt to ask.

There is no NEC requirement that an MCC have a disconnecting means within sight of the MCC.

If the feeder OCPD is sized to protect the MCC then you are good to go.
