I have encountered an old 2400 watt element in an old McClary stove in an Motel...the replacement is 3000 watts...in a situation where the stove is open to heat up the room, where the stove will not shut down upon reaching a set temperature, will there be a enough change in amperage that could heat up the old wires leading to the element to possibly cause a fire?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

You may want to think carefully before you put any part in that stove that violates the listing and labeling. The old wiring, connections and controls may not like the change!
I did a google search for "McClary parts" and the first hit I found 12 Bake elements and 7 Broil elements.
