We are supplying power and switching of mechanical brakes after the branch circuit OCPD. It is a two-wire full voltage (480VAC) brake, activated by a contactor. Since the brake and the motor are both protected by the branch circuit OCPD, does the brake bear any short-circuit addition in the calculations?

No. The only reason a motor might is because it is possibly a generator under the right conditions, and the calculations must take that possibility into account. A brake can never contribute, only consume.
