Mechanical Gas pipe on a cable tray support

Can anyone tell me if it is a violation of the NEC to have a mechanical gas pipe installed off of a cable tray support? If so, (which I believe it is a violation) can anyone direct me to the code reference?

If it is not supported by the cable tray itself, I don't see any code issue.
