I just moved to charlotte N.C. and down here this Inspectors look at everything they don't leave a screw unturned. I think this are some of the best Inspectors I've seen. Have any of you been in this area and delt with this Inspectors?

I haven't personally, but it's always nice to hear about inspectors doing an exceptional job.

Asheville inspectors are the same as Charlotte as far as commercial jobs are concerned,(I think it's pretty much the same in residential) there is no such thing as a drive by inspection, the job will be inspected by very good inspectors.

I agree the inspectors in my area are very good also. They inspect per NEC and nothing else. But they cover the NEC very well.

10 years ago they(I should say some) didn't even bring a plug tester or screwdriver in. Now they hardly ever miss testing a receptacle. Sometimes it takes awhile.

I even like most of them.

Come on Roger, you know you like the drive by inspections:grin:

inspectors that actually do there job right would be great. That drives wages up and prices to do it to code.If inforced equily i am all for it.Let the permit cover the man for a 1 hour inspection. That would do owner and EC both a favor.

you would think, but a city just north of tallahassee proves that theory to be invalid.

Hard to fault an person for doing their job, I believe this type of inspection would improve our profession. Lot less, unqualified installers, better quality work and safety has to rise as the quality and scrutiny of inspectors improves.
