Real dumb question, is there a tried and true method for mounting a medallion? I have to put up one tomorrow that is about 2 ft in diameter. I can't remember if I asked this question before so forgive me but these are not everyday occurences. Nevertheless, I planned on using liquid nails and if I need to, a sheetrock screw if it will blend in with the coloring of the medallion somewhere. Also, does it seem that the hole in a medallion does not correspond to a standard 4" round box or is it just my imagination?

Use lots of glue or you'll get gaps around the edges. I have had to use screws sometimes, and then touch up the screw head with a dab of caulk. A fine bead of caulk around the edge is a nice finishing touch.

You keep selling those "brake light warranties".

I've always screwed the bigger ones up and just applied a touch of One-Time, but thats about it. I made one out of plywood once and used a router to add a nice touch to the outside edge. Mad skillz I tell ya.

here is the chandelier I hung.... Wish they showed the medallion I made.

Sometimes I have seen the medalions cause havock with the automatic stops on one brand of chandelier lift if it is not adjusted right. I would screw it to the ceiling spackle and paint as I have done in the past
