Today I tested my Megger with my Vol-Con to see if it was putting out 250v. Also wanted to see on which lead the voltage may be on. Went from red lead to ground, got nothing. Black lead to ground, got nothing. So figured I must need to go red to black, which showed no voltage. So what am i missing that I cant test the meggers output voltage? It is a DC megger and my Vol-Con does read DC voltage.

Actually, Vol-Con is able to read DC voltage. But, a Vol-Con won't be able to properly measure the small amount of juice produced by a megger. Too much of a connected load for that.

Try using a high-impedance input digital meter. IT will still make the megger show a fault, however.
