Megger Test

Have a 750 feeder we have to pull. The want us to pull it in two part. Pull first part through a few manholes then come back a few weeks later and finish pulling the last section through a few manholes. Would you just megger when all done or megger when done with first part of pull and then when after you complete?

I would megger it after the first pull, that way you know if you have caused damage with the first pull.

Note that in the absence of conductive materials in the raceway, such as wire pulling lube or water, you can have substantial damage that will not be detected by an insulation resistance test.

That's what I figured. What would detect the damage you speak of?
