I'm gonna start trying out my fluke 1587.
So, I'm gonna megger my new service job first then my branch circuits.
1- Feeders meggering.
- disconnect load side (2 hots , 1 neutral and EGC) from main 200 amp disconnect outside.
- No need to disconnect line in 200 amp panel box inside.
-Then megger L to L, L to N, L to G, N to G.
2- Branch circuits.
-Unscrew light bulbs from temporary pig tails.
-In Panel Box , disconnect hot to breaker from circuit to be tested, disconnect neutral from bar, and disconnect ground as well.
- Now test H to G, H to N, N to G.
A - Does this sound ok to you all?
B - Could i have left the ground hooked to ground bar and test that way?
C - If i leave the ground hooked then wouldn't the main grounding jumper at main disc. mess my readings?
D - Anything else i missed?
Thank you all.
