Meglock readers

I have meglock readers powering door in high rise. Is their any requirement in NEC 2017 that says this must be on emergency, standyby power circuit?

Depends on whether they're fail-open or fail-locked. Also depends on the building and fire codes. Have you tried asking the AHJ?

This is not an NEC issue. It should be covered under other building and fire codes.
