messenger wire

I ran a #10 UF wire aerial between two small buildings and used a chinese hanger to hold the wire and put the hanger on a hook. I realize now I should have put a messenger wire in. I haven't done this before. Any suggestions of how I can add a messenger wire without having to take my wire down?
Thanks a lot for your help.

I've used aircraft cable and wrapped it around the UF a couple of times, and then added some uv resistant ty-raps.
Can we still call them 'chinese hangers'?

Do you put the messenger wire in with the cable grip or disconnect the cable grip with the UF and only hook the messenger wire? What is the best way to connect the messenger wire to the hook on the pole? I am trying to picture this. Thanks again.

Someone on this site has a picture of a uf tied to a messanger cable from the house to a garage. I just cant remember who did the job though.

I believe it was user 1793 that had some pics... do a thread search and maybe you can find it.

Thanks a lot everyone for finding the thread so I could see the picture. ...Thanks again- the picture is great!

I put only the Messenger wire under the wedge clip. I then attached the UF with with UV Ty's.

I would not use the wire clip on the UF, it could damage the insulation. IMO.

Kind of the whole reason for requiring a messenger wire to begin with.
