I'm in 2020 version and I got a confusion because according to the redaction of 392.60 cables trays sections containing data cables shall be bonded together to maintain the cable tray system electrically continuous but no necessarily grounding if not intended to use as equipment grounding path, is that correct?

The way I take it, it doesn’t need attached/bonded to a EGC anywhere. But all pieces need to be bonded together to be electrically continuous.

Right, that's the way I was thinking in the case the cable tray is no in use as EGC not need to be grounded. Thank you for your replie I appreciate it.
