I don't work in the trade much anymore. And I seldom ask questions here. Still licensed and insured.
I know article 300.4 (E) 2020 edition and many previous editions say I need to stay 1.5 inches below the lowest surface of the roof decking.
I am wiring my personal metal garage that will be inspected. Is there any distance requirement on the sidewalls? I plan in a few places to sneak my EMT behind the upright supports that would fail if it were a roof. I can't think of an article that would prohibit installing this way.
I have seen Youtube videos of people running MC this way. I personally think MC shouldn't be installed down low at least because it might be subject to damage.
Thanks for your input.
