A client is having a hard time finding small line voltage switches and coverplates for a metal mullion installation. Has the code been changed to require those environments be low voltage?

I can't know exactly what the OP means, but I have used that word in reference to the narrow columns you would find with aluminum storefronts, or the dividing latch point between two door leaves.
Maybe 1-5/8 or 2" wide. Sometimes card readers or 'push to exit' buttons are made in that width.

It's a switch and plate designed to go in a hollow metal door frame. They are commonly used in schools where the door frame is sided by windows encompassed in one hollow metal unit. Like this one.
