Hello, this could possibly be an easy answer. Im unable to find if there is a code specific clearance for the metal wireways and doorways. I.E. If said wireway has to be at minimum of 12" from the door frame.
Thank You.

This question was brought to me by a co-worker(also a maintenance electrician), saying that he is almost sure there is a code requirement for clearance. If there is... i am unaware of it, and it is hidden very well.

There are requirements for clear working space about electrical equipment... and most center around the need to access while exposing energized parts.

I am familiar with the code book, but i was boggled with how sure of himself he was. That is entirely why i presented this question here.

I follow what you are saying with exposed energized parts clearances, accessiblity, and equipment. But there will not be any equipment near, and it will be readily accessible.
The wireway IS equipment... just don't [usually] meet the criteria for needing clear working space.

The 2010 ADA Standards For Accessible Design DO have clearance requirements
for some doors & door entrances.......See Section 404, ...Table 404.2.4.1 and
Figures 404.2.4.1 [ Figure (c) ] in the 2010 ADA Standards For Accessible
Design, to determine if your particular doors require the various Accessible
clearances.
