Hi
In NEC sec 348.20(2)c, the length of metallic flexible conduit for tap connections to luminaires as permitted in sec 410.67(C) shall not be more than 1.8 meters.Anybody can explain the reason for this? Here we have one location where ceiling is coming more than 3 meters below the roof.Conduits are running through the roof. Can we fix one jn box on roof and use flexible conduit upto the luminaires?

Thanks in advance
Siva

The 6' length limitation is for trade size 3/8" FMC. You could use 1/2" or larger FMC, at a length longer than 6' provided it is supported as in 348.30(A) and Exception No. 4.
